I. Sail.

One of my favorite movies of all time. What About Bob. Please tell me you’ve seen it. If you haven’t, I demand you immediately drop everything and locate it on Netflix for a flicky night. You won’t be sorry.

For those of you who’ve partaken of the comedy bounty provided by this film, remember this scene?

Couldn’t help but be a little nostalgic about it when I first laid eyes on the Sailaway Circle Skirt. I pulled it on, zipped it up, and exclaimed, “I’m sailing! I. Sail!”

Thank goodness this skirt hit sale last week. I was ready to fly to Anthro headquarters myself and flex some muscle ;) I couldn’t love it more. The midi length, high waist, nautical brass buttons, and fabulous print (i die!) makes this skirt skyrocket to my all-time favorite Anthro list. Although I really wish they would’ve named it something a little snappier, like “Sail the Ocean Blue” skirt, or “1492 was a good year” skirt. Or “Nina, Pinta, Santa Maria” skirt. I could go on and on.

Any of you snap up one of these and sail away into the sunset too? Hope so.

Navy is the Gravy

The fashion Gods have spoken.  Navy is in, baby. And I’m pleased as ever about it.

Navy is the gravy.  It goes wonderfully with just about every fashion “meal” you can serve up.  Prints or solids, if it’s navy….you’re good.

Some are even touting navy as the neutral of the season.

Even though I know navy is the gravy, I wanted to show y’all I believe it. So I did a little “ode to Navy” of sorts over the past couple of weeks and documented what I came up with. Have a looksie.

Tango with Tangerine

You’ve all heard it already I’m sure,…what THE color of 2012 is, deemed by the Pantone Gods.

I feel like there should be an applause button to insert here.

I sure as heck feel like applauding.  I can’t get enough of this spicy spitfire.  And kudos to Pantone for using alliteration.  Tangerine Tango.  Alliteration makes everything more catchy.

On screen, it almost looks like they could have called it Tomato Tango and come out on top as well.  Doesn’t it look a bit more tomato to you?  I grew up with Tangerine trees surrounding our yard, and I’m telling you, tangerines are much more orange than red/orange.

Tangerine….Tomato…..ah well, they’re both fruits, right?

Never one to tiff with Pantone, I shall peacefully Tango with my Tangerine and enjoy this fine year of spicy color infusion.
