This Is How We Do It.

Did you miss my Colorphile Submission Challenge from yesterday?  If so, read/be inspired/submit….in that order. I hope you’ll join in!
Last night my man MacGyver and I had a Dance Central dance-off on the XBOX, and I TOTALLY won. Like, by a landslide.  My kids were quite impressed.  We did ‘em old school, with songs like “This is How we Do it”, and “Baby Got Back”.My seven-year old was laughing so hard the poor guy got the hiccups.  Apparently, mom doesn’t dance enough around here, and it kinda threw ‘em all off.

I took off the boots and belt to bring it down, since it was after dinner and…welp…. yeah…it was after dinner. ‘Nuf said. A girl’s gotta breathe while wiping the floor with her husband. :)

I’ll tell you what though,…that game really needs new clothing for their dance avatars. Anthro clothes! Or maybe you could just “unlock” their Anthro style, when unlocking their street style.  I mean, the girls I have to choose from now are cool, they just aren’t me.

Case in point:

Taye.

Emilia. I do actually dig her socks. Can you really buy them that long?!? Instead of knee-highs, they're like Crotch-highs!

Aubrey. She's probably closest to my taste, and even has on-trend nautical attire, albeit sexy sailoresque. But stick her in an Odille skirt and Maeve blouse? Dead-ringer for an Anthro model.

Thanks for humoring me.

Sometimes these posts just have a life of their own.

xoxo Molly

OOTD: I Want Candy, Chie Mihara Drool Fest, and an Anthropologie Honeyed Hive Posts Review

Wearing: Skirt-Anthropologie Million Pleats Midi, Top-Banana Republic, Tights-J.Crew, Shoes-Anthropologie, Cardi-J.Crew Jackie, Headband- J.Crew, Earrings- ATL

I’m calling this my ‘I Want Candy’ outfit, cause these colors together just speak candy to me.  Though I’ve never eaten a piece of candy quite like the color of my top, or gray for that matter, I’m still going with it.  I Want Candy it is.  I tried on the Million Pleats Midi while super-pregs, and was so intrigued by it. My closet had NOTHIN’ like it.  Knife pleats?  I’m a stranger to them.  Until now.  I waited for it to hit sale but didn’t wait for the 50% off sale stuff, because I knew my size would be long gone.  Since it sports an elastic waistband, the skirt is what I call “forgiving”.  Therefore, size down, my friends.  It’s oh-so-vintagey and oh-so-cotton-candy-pink.  I’m not much for pastels….as I’ve stated before, jewel tones do me right.  Pastels….meh.  Not so much.  But this skirt falls into the Mellow Rose Pantone color category, which is, according to Real Simple, one of the 4 universally flattering colors on women. (This post will snap you up to date if you have no idea what I’m talking about).  So, technically, I’m not wearing a pastel.  I’m wearing the universally flattering Mellow Rose.

Also on my mind tonight? A quick review of the Honeyed Hive Posts that I wore today for the first time.  They are bigger than they appear online, which I like.  They’ve a nice weight to them and put off some serious blingy shine, yet the bees give a cool unexpected whimsy vibe.  I diggeth.

Anthropologie Honeyed Hive Posts

Other reviews to come of the Emeraldine Oxford Heels (!!!!), and other hauled items.

I have so many blog posts in my head….DIY projects I’ve completed, a baby shower I had at my house yesterday…(here’s a little sneaky peek for y’all.  It was a Little Man themed shower, overflowing with cuteness.)

"Little Man" Baby Shower....it's a-comin'!

I need to share with you pics of Anthro displays from my local San Antonio store…seriously, they’ll knock your sweet socks off.  Want. Them. In. My. House. Pronto.

And let me just say, Chie Mihara is SLAYING ME with her collection….did you get an email today too?  I mean, seriously…Look at these.  My hankering for green?  She punched me right in the gut.  Take that, she said, and hit me with these greenies:

Chie Mihara Iona 216

And if that wasn’t enough, she cut me open with these quirky fantastic beauties:

Chie Mihara Iona P302

then she poured alcohol in the wound with these:

Chie Mihara Iona 179 LIMA

and finally, the kill shot….she fired away at me with these…..my red heels, the ones I’m pretty sure I’ve been searching for all my life.

Chie Mihara Nerito

I’ll take one of each, thank you.  Shoes…..they’ll be the death of me.

Family pictures are a-happenin’ this Sunday.  I put together a possible color scheme/item selection.  What do you think?

Family Photos 2011? Green/Black/Gray/Cream color scheme

This set won’t work at all if my package from Gap Kids doesn’t arrive….ordered them last Saturday and still nothin’!  I’ll have to get super creative it if doesn’t show.  Wish me luck!
