That’s what I said to MacGyver over the phone, Friday afternoon. Yes, Franz Ferdinand said it first, but that’s beside the point. I needed to get out….I wanted time for him and me. So that’s what we did. We had some fab Mexican food, I ran over to ATL before closing to exchange a size in one of the tops I bought for $35 when they were on special last week, plus I had a 20% off entire purchase. Score. These are the tops I bought.

Nautical Stripe 3/4 Sleeve- "nautical chic", they call it. Why can't they come up with better product names like Anthro?
and this one:

Dotted Henley in "fresh olive". I can't wait to wear this one!
Both these tops will be having regular dates with my torso this fall. Super pumped about that.
The wafting aura of Anthropologie’s Volcano candles lured me in on the walk back to the car. I must say, I’m seriously tempted to pounce on the sweater sale and snag one of these:

Felted Colorbar Cardigan
It’s so different from anything I own. Just look at that shade of pink! I mean, that is some serious pink. But I love the little buttons and fleshy hue that tones it down and makes it totally work. We’ll see….I have yet to bite on it. May wait until it hits FULL sale.
Here’s what I wore on our ‘take me out’ date.

Wearing: Top-Anthropologie Odille (name?), Skirt-Gap Maternity, Belt-Anthropologie Vivid Brink Belt, Shoes-Anthropologie Lass and Laddie Oxfords (Poetic License "Backlash"), Flower-Anthropologie, Earrings-ATL
Lest you think we only went where I needed to go, we also stopped by the Bass Pro Shop, MacGyver’s version of an “Anthropologie” infatuation, so to speak. He’s like a kid in a candy store there, a very expensive candy store mind you. But hey, he puts up with the other force in our relationship (Anthro), so I can make room for Bass Pro. I know, I’m Mother Theresa….hehe
Geesh, what a weekend. After Friday, it kinda blurred right by me. My 7-year-0ld had his party on Saturday, preparation and execution taking up most of the day. The inevitable Costco run before it closes at 6 p.m…… on a Saturday!! What the?! Seriously, they need to re-think that decision. They’d make so much ca-zash if they stayed open normal hours on Saturday. Just sayin’…. Then a group of fabulous gals came over and we made baby shower invites for…well,…. moi. I know, it sounds weird, but I designed my own invites and came up with the theme. I used to have a business doing it, and I really do enjoy it, the entire process of coming up with themes and working with different mediums to produce an invite. My friends, especially the friend hosting the shower, is sincerely relieved I wanted to, otherwise, as she said herself, it would be evites. gag. Evites are great for mass invites and school functions, but to mark a special occasion like a baby shower… to give events that extra special oompf, you just hunker down and hand make it, you know?! They turned out really cute. Wanna see?

The theme is "Up, Up and Away"....hot air balloons and maps.
The houndstooth is actually fabric I bought with 40% off coupon at JoAnn’s; the “basket” of the balloon is thin cork purchased with coupon at Michael’s; the map strip was an old Atlas book I bought at Half Priced books for $3. The “celebrate” flag is cut out of paint chips. Paint chips are also going to play a roll in the buntings, along with more maps, to be strung across the room:

Paint chips and maps cut into triangles, sewn onto seam binding. $1.80 for 4 yards at Hobby Lobby. Not bad.
I’ll do a mega post on the shower after it happens next week. I can’t wait!
I’m so proud. I finished my book mobile corner. Post is already in the works on that. It’s a double-dose of Anthropologie inspired DIY next post. Can you handle it?!
Oh, and if you haven’t perused Kim from Anthroholic’s Reader submissions from yesterday, please do. I may have snuck one in. There’s always a bevy of styling inspirations on there, plus, it’s just fun to see Anthro pieces in action on so many different fabulous women.
Be back tomorrow. Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!
xoxo Molly
