First off, a very Happy Thanksgiving to you all. This post was actually supposed to run a few days ago but I never got around to finishing it until today. My stuffing, 2 pies, casserole, veggie tray, and ice cream are all ready to go…now we just wait to head out to our dear friends’ house to eat our way to a coma. Hope you all are enjoying the day and as much as I am…. I have so much to be grateful for, and all cheesiness aside, I am sincerely grateful for all of you who continue to read this blog, for your comments, and of course, for our shared appreciation of all things Anthro. Happy Turkeying, y’all.
So, I want to know what kind of preparation you are up to in anticipation of the first ever Anthro Black Friday sale? Have you called your store ahead to check on inventory? Set one,….no, two…..okay….maybe five alarms for 12:01 a.m. Friday morning to purchase online at an additional 50% off the sale stock? Or perhaps for a 5 a.m. wake-up call to head out to stores? Baked muffins for the Anthro staff to light up their bleary 6 a.m. eyes?
I ask because I have done perhaps all of the above, or maybe only one. I’ll never tell. However, I do make a mean blueberry muffin. Just sayin’…..
I’m happy to report my local store will open it’s fabulous doors at 6 a.m. Four (maybe five) of my lovely posse are in cawhoots with me, their alarm clocks set as well, and barring any natural disasters….we will be there, hot cocoas in hand, awaiting the wafting scent of Volcano candles taunting us from the belly of the beast. Bring it, Anthro sale rack.
‘Whoo’ of you out there owns the Lemon Lift Off Blouse? (sorry, can’t help myself…) This was it’s maiden voyage for me, as I purchased it while I was still packin’ a baby. I really, really dig this blouse, especially the whimsical owls, and am so glad I snagged one when it hit sale. If you can find one on the sale racks this Friday, I highly recommend buyin’ it. In my opinion, it runs a bit small. The more I play around with this blouse in Polyvore and IRL, the more convinced I am that it’s the “Talented Mr. Ripley” of my closet. WHOO’d have thunk it?! (okay, okay…I’ll stop. Promise.) I had fun pairing the blouse with the turquoise High Gloss Loafers as they did on the model shot. And, she was also wearing green AG Stevies, remember? So I followed Anthro’s lead and infused the outfit with some green as well. Here’s the result:

Wearing: Top-Anthropologie Lemon Lift Off Blouse, Skirt- Anthropologie Odille, Belt- Anthropologie, Shoes- Anthropologie High Gloss Loafers, Bracelet- Anthropologie, Earrings- Anthropologie

Can’t wait to hear about all the Friday pandemonium. Word to the wise: if you find yourself getting stressed out, angry, impatient, or frustrated because some chick snagged the last Painted Plaid Dress right in front of you….. head over to the home section, take the lid off a Volcano candle, stick your nose as close as possible to the wick, and take a whiff.
Leave me a comment and let me know about your awesome scores, fantastic finds, insane luck, and….though I hope not…..tell me about any disappointments too. ‘T’ minus 10 hours, ladies! Sending sweet sale-scoring vibes your way.
xoxo Molly
