Anyboday need a HERO? I do.

Here to save us all from the past week's drama!! (Seriously, how can this pic not crack you up?!) I love this little guy.
Oh boy….what a couple of days it’s been. Our Anthro boats have collectively been rocked, and not in a good way. It’s taken me so much time this past week catching up with all the details, that quite frankly I’ve been left with a serious case of burnout. Hence the silence, until now. My sincerest empathy goes out to those victims of Kim’s scamming. Much thanks to all the ladies affected first-hand who have taken their valuable time and written detailed accounts of the debacle, exposing her actions, and bloggers who have put their two cents in as well: Roxy, JG, Anjali, Dea, Tara, Tracy, Jess, Laura, and if I missed anyone….please forgive me. It’s deplorable what was done. I hope beyond all hope it is made right for all of those who were scammed. More importantly, I hope those who have been taking part in the discussions and adversely affected by it can get some distance from it all this weekend, some perspective, and come back renewed.
I for one will not be taking a break from blogging. I won’t allow the poor decisions and criminal actions of one person to ruin my fun. Fun, you say? Yes, fun. Fashion is fun. Blogging is fun. Anthro is all sorts of fun. Anthrofied projects are even more fun. I won’t allow the nasty decisions of one person to taint the affinity I have had for Anthro and this community before this all went down, nor will I allow it to in the future. Anthro didn’t do anything wrong…. she did. I fully respect those who just need to take a break from blogging or reading blogs. However, I was not numbered amongst those that were scammed, therefore I have distance. I have also learned from my own experience that when I make black/white decisions or commitments during a mess, when the ‘crap is hitting the fan’, they’re usually not sound. So, as for me and my blog…..we will still both be here. I hope you will all still be here too.
I’ve been busy putting together a little Anthrofied art nook in my house the last couple of days. It involves some of these:

yep. Uncle Buck naturally shed some antlers, and now they're mine, purchased on etsy.
I tried to take photos but something fishy is up with my camera. It won’t read the card today, so I’ll try again next post. I spray painted a ton yesterday, and I must say….it was totally therapeutic. The nook turned out pretty funky, and I’m kinda in love with it. I’ve been holding onto some glass orbs with giant feathers in them for quite some time that I bought at a store called RED, and I used them in the nook as well, finally! I’ll hopefully have those pics for you on Monday.
Since Reader outfits from the former Anthroholic blog are not accessible any more, I’m posting my submission from last week, since I have no documented outfits from this past week. I promise I was not naked. (You’re welcome). I just seriously need to learn to work my remote and tripod. That’s the only way I’m going to get regular OOTD photos this fall.

Did anyone else get a 20% off “oops” coupon from Anthro for an order being messed up? It’s good until 10/15! I saw a few comments over at Roxy’s house about it, and I commented that I had indeed gotten one too. Yee-ha! Hey, I say if that’s all it takes to get 20% off, feel free to screw up my order anytime! How very cool of them. It was a great sale….what did you pick up? I scored two pairs of shoes online, and then hit the store for a belt and a necklace; all four items have been wishlist torturing me the entire summer. So happy they all finally hit sale!

I got the Glossed Loafers, but I have to reorder a half-size up. I followed the reviews and ordered a half-size down....that was a mistake.

Akka Wedges. These are so comfy and dead-on cool at the same time. Love.

This FINALLY went on sale. The Papaya Pebbles Necklace.

And finally, this is the Hinged Belt I picked up. Love the gold hinges and meadow green color.
Now for a little challenge.
You and I both know how I love a great Anthrofied DIY; quite frankly, I think fostering our artistic side is just what the doctor ordered. I think it’ll therapeutically shake off the negative vibe of the last couple days. So, I’m giving you two weeks. Deadline is: October 1, 2011 by midnight Mountain time. Send me a photo (or photos) of an Anthrofied DIY you’ve completed yourself, and instructions on how you did it. Once all the entries are in, I will pick an Anthro DIY winner, post their projects and how-to instructions, and the winner will receive a $25 gift certificate to none other than….the Mothership, of course. It won’t be a fake gift card either. I promise, it will be worth $25 and it will indeed be mailed by me to you with delivery confirmation. I then would love to know what you bought with it, if that’s not too much to ask. This contest is in no way endorsed or sponsored by Anthropologie, rather my own wallet and my own Anthro budget.
In other non-Anthro related news….I had an ultrasound yesterday and the little dude is so smart….staying head down, gettin’ all ready for his big moment. My alarming growth from last month has thankfully plateaued. I’m only measuring 2 days ahead of my due date now, halle-to-the-lu-jah! We even got to see him practice breathing for a minute, his little chest going up and down. They say he already weighs over 6 lbs and “shouldn’t be over 9 lbs at birth”. Fantastic news for my nethers, if it’s true!
Hope you’re all recovering from the blah week, and I can’t wait to see what you creative Anthro DIY-ers come up with!
xoxo Molly
