Take Heart.

My mom forwarded me an email the other day with a link to a video for the GO RED for women campaign. It’s about knowing the signs of a heart attack and being ready to help someone else or even help yourself.  Because it really could be you, while working out, while shopping at Anthro (it’s hard to tell the difference sometimes between excitement over new arrivals and a heart attack, right?! ;) ), or while brushing your teeth.

I thought it was going to be one of those scare-tactic videos that turn me off to the message.

It wasn’t.

One of my favorite actresses, Elizabeth Banks, stars in it, along with baby Cruise (Colin Egglesfield).

And it’s seriously entertaining. Take 2 minutes and watch it, if you haven’t seen it already.

I had to laugh hysterically at the last bit, “2 minutes?! Could you make it 10?!” Said while looking around at her messy house…that was totally me, a year and a half ago….in hard labor with Mr. Banks, waiting for the midwife to arrive. I was like, wait a minute, the house is a wreck! While MacGyver still slept, I’d pick up one or two things, get down on all fours and breathe through a contraction, get back up and rush around for a minute, drop down again, repeat, until I couldn’t get up anymore, and I had to crawl to the tub….sometimes women are crazy!!

I’m loving the new Novelty Collar Tee I picked up last week. The print is so fun, with black/white/and splashes of blue. Hot pink just felt so right here.

Take care of your Anthro-loving hearts, ladies and know the signs of a heart attack.

xoxo Molly

Ok, so wait…did she actually have a heart attack in real life? Or was she being the person in the video? The end was weird. I am thinking about this way too much.

No, she was still being her character at the end. Kinda like “the Office” style, talking to the camera but being in-character. In real life, Elizabeth’s sister and mother have heart arrhythmias; that inspired her to make it her mission to fight heart disease.

  2. Love the video, thanks for posting Molly. It’s a cause very close to my own heart– please excuse the pun :)

And love the brightness in the fun purse + pants!

February was heart health month, I think. Great reminder. Love the video, too! Heart attacks are so different for women, they are missed a lot. A family friend, Grandma age, died of a heart attack last year and it hit close to home. It was so unexpected.

Love the outfit! Anthro is killing me with the new arrivals, especially that top! I want like three of the different prints! Thanks for the post!

That was hilarious!! Seriously so funny- but equally as funny was your comment! Are you kidding me?! Girlfriend- I could have picked up for you- OR wake up your hubby! Truth be told- I have done practically the same thing.
