I Knew You Were Trouble When You Walked In….

…..Says me to the Olivia Cut-Out Oxfords. (Thanks for crooning it first, Taylor. And sorry to hear about you and Harry. :( )

I bought the first colorway (purple-suede) in-store, with the 20% full-price promo. They were so smooth from the first moment I slipped them on. I became a bit obsessed with them, a la pre-teen-infatuation-with-Justin-Bieber-ish. Except I didn’t scream or faint when I wore them.

So when the new colorways came out, I level-headedly ordered both because I knew they’d sell out. And guess what? Within one day of posting about them here, the polka-dot version indeed DID sell out in my size. Hmm…I guess I’m just an Anthro prophet is all. ;) And by the way, my first pair came with just one pair of laces, aqua blue. The next two pairs came with two pairs of laces as shown.

No regrets, people. No regrets.

Hope your weekend was all sorts of lovely. Be back soon with the 4th and final installment of the Anthromollogies Styling Event!

xoxo Molly

P.S. Apologies for the Taylor Swift title reference, but when you have a preteen daughter living with you, Tay-Tay is pretty much on repeat in the car, in her bedroom, on the ipod….

Ha ha ha….I have a 17 yr old daughter and she puts that song on repeat all the time. I have to admit…I love Taylor swift. Love your outfit too and totally going to copy it. Hope you don’t mind (except I don’t have those rockin shoes :( )

    • Molly

Hey Katie! So glad you’re inspired by the outfit! Copy away! (Except I really do think you should snag a pair of those rockin’ shoes!) You won’t be sorry….

Hi Molly, love your styling with ‘Olivia’! I’m currently waiting on the purple ones to arrive (now sold out in my size too). I’m also intrigued by the new Moonstone colourway – can you tell me what colours it has in it please? I haven’t seen it on the website yet.

  3. I love your whole outfit and your cords. What color are your pants?

  4. How could you not get the other colorways??? They are great! I’m hoping to track down a pair of the purple colorway. Love!

    • Molly

You will absolutely dig them in every possible way. They’re SUPER comfy, and ridiculously cool to boot. Good luck locating. What size, if you need any help?

    Hi Molly,

I may have kind of sort of ordered the polka dot ones after you posted about them. The 10s were already sold out by then, so I am hopeful the 9.5s will fit. Looking forward to seeing how you style the dots!

Love these shoes and thinking of ordering them. Could you tell me about the fit? I’m too far away from a store to try them on. I have wide feet and a high instep. I’ve found Pilcro shoes to run a little big in other styles and was wondering if these ran big also. Did they stretch after a couple of wears? Thanks for all your fab fashion inspiration!!

    • Molly

Well, I don’t own any other Pilcro shoes besides the Olivias, so I can’t comment on whether or not they run big. I am a size 10 and these fit great. I also have a high instep, but my feet are more on the narrow side, except for the bunions I keep company with :) These do stretch nicely, and since they tie together in the center, you can adjust how tightly you want them on your foot, which I think would be fabulous for wide feet. The sueded-front pairs have more give than the polka-dot ones, but I feel like they’ll loosen up too after a few wears. If you order the sueded ones, be prepared for fumes when you open the box. They don’t smell once you have them on your feet, but the first inhale of the box might be shocker to your nostrils! Good luck! I really think you will love them. Hands down, my favorite purchase (this month!! ha!)

    Hi Molly!

I just bookmarked your web site. I love to view and discuss (and wear) Anthropologie clothing designs. I bought the Olivia Maroon Cut-Out Oxfords because I saw how cute they were on you in your pictures. I almost passed them by because I couldn’t get the shoes in the polka dot. Now I am considering getting the sand color as well (’cause, yeah, they look so cute on you). It’s going to be a few months before I can wear them but these shoes are just flying off the shelves.

    cheers,
    Sue

Sue, so glad you snagged the olivias. You will be high-five-ing yourself for months! I love all three colors, and if you’re considering…you should pounce cause gone they will most certainly be. Have you tried them with socks? I’ve worn them several times on cold days with socks and they did wonderfully.

  8. ack! I love them even more now that I know they come with a selection of laces! brilliant!

Aren’t duplicate loves…lovely? Oh, and how alluring is the word moonstone? I love them!

    • Molly

I think I would have bought the darn necklace sight unseen just knowing it was named “moonstone”. Hah! I am a total believer in duplicates. Nothing worse than seeing a favorite item come out in another color option and you don’t grab it. You’re left berating yourself for all time and eternity for letting it go! I prefer to dance :)

  9. Oh Molly once again I bought something based solely on your recommendation! I ordered the polka dot version and got them today…and now I have the task of figuring out how to wear them. Please help a sister out! I think I’m good on pants/jeans options but I love skirts and dresses. Would these work? Help!

    • Molly

Mary, I’d be happy to help! I’ve so far worn them with ankle length jeans simply due to the weather, however I fully plan on rocking them with skirts and dresses come warmer weather. They will look gorgeous…the cut-outs make them more feminine than regular oxfords, and the fun polka dot print adds the whimsy we crave from our Anthro wardrobes! I’ll try to do a post on styling them soon. Congrats!

I also bought the polka dot oxfords, I absolutely love them. I am stumped when it comes to styling them though. I can’t wait to see how you style them!

    • Molly

Oh Awesome!! They are so fantastic, and i haven’t worn much else than rotating my olivia oxfords for the last week and a half. I’ll try to do a styling bit on them very soon. Congrats! Good thing you snagged them when you did…they won’t last to sale, that’s for sure!

      • anthroconsabor

By the way, I love the moonstone necklace you have on. I snagged that one too when I saw it at my store and thought the colors were so fun! But I LOVE that you can turn it around and use the other side if you want the necklace more on the neutral side! ;) 2 for 1- heck yeah!

        • Molly

Thx, lady! I love it too, and yes…I was also quite impressed with the reversible nature of it! 2 fer 1 fan here for sure!! I’m putting myself on collar necklace buying restriction though…must. stop!
