Colorphile Series: Mint, Salmon, & Persimmon

It was with great satisfaction that I happened upon this awesome color inspiration a few weeks ago.  I Pinned it of course.

These colors are so vivid, I can taste them. Synesthesia, anyone?

You know what happens when something so colorfully spectacular happens to your retinas?  The cones residing in them commence having a dance party, that’s what.  They party at supersonic speed, pipe lined through the optic nerve, and explode in the brain as genuine inspiration.

In short: “Ooooooohh!  Aaaaaaaaahh!” and then “Oh man, I’ve gotta try this!”

So I did.

Wearing: Top-J.Crew Buffalo Check, Pants- J.Crew Scout Crops, Shoes-J.Crew Factory Bow Patent Ballet Flats, Bracelet- J.Crew Belt, Earrings- Anthropologie

 I Crewed it up with this outfit, didn’t I? Only the earrings hail from Anthro. I knew I wanted a pop of color on my wrist.  I had a bracelet that was perfectly Persimmon, however the vibe/design of it was just….off. It didn’t belong.  It was like “one of these kids is not like the other”, but not in the good yin and yang fashion sense way. I wanted a bit of simple ruggedness.

That’s when I saw this belt out of the corner of my eye.

I started wrapping, and then…..Voila!

Belt as bracelet. Why not?

Anyone else out there feeling at one with Persimmon, Mint, and Salmon?

Or are you a compatriot Synesthete? For the record, I haven’t formally been diagnosed with Synesthesia, and don’t think I would be. But if you ask me what the color blue tastes like, I literally salivate; and when I hear music, it looks like a flaming, moving rainbow.

Synesthete or not, I enjoy it. So crank up the music, I say. And wear something colorful while you’re at it.
