Minty Buffalo

So after purchasing the mint scout chinos from J.Crew the other week, I was suffering from mint-on-the-brain, a condition only overcome by the wearing mint.  I’m not ready to wear my scouts yet though, since I bought them snug on purpose.  I want them to fit loosely, not tight, when all’s said and done…. and welp, as I’ve said before….the Bankster left some loose change behind. I’m losing steadily and almost there….but in the meantime, I still wanted my mint fix.  So I opted for a more saturated spearmint in my current closet to satisfy.  The pale peach colorway of the J.Crew Buffalo check shirt seemed to compliment the mint hue perfectly, twice in one week.  so you get a two-fer here.  Two Minty Buffalos.

Mint playing nice with Buffalo

If you’re looking for a great necklace to satisfy a bit 0′ mint, the Celadon Shapes Necklace is a fabulous piece.  Just enough sparkle, just a hint of color, long and layered….it’s lovely through and through.  The Split Surface Belt was a quick snatch purchase I made a while back.  I bought both colorways and ended up returning the neutral one since I clearly didn’t need both.  There are mint, peach, rust, purple, blue, and brown chevrons going on in this belt, making it a real team player.  I highly suggest this one as well.  I bought a medium.  This belt is a case in point example of how Anthro always gets the accessories right.  My outfit could have been pretty “meh” without it, frankly.  The flats I’m wearing in both outfits were from the the J.Crew outlet Motherload visit with my SIL, and the cardi in the first outfit was the one I snagged on serious sale the following Monday.  I’m pleased as pie with all my purchases thus far. Shopping nirvana.

Hope you’ve had a bit of nirvana yourself lately, hopefully involving mint.

xoxo Molly

  1. I think the buffalo check shirts are my fave J Crew button-downs! I have one and wish I had more, since the other perfect shirts I've tried haven't been so perfect. And a touch of mint is always delightful! Love the laser cut mint belt with the jackie and dotted jeans. very restrained and very dramatic!

I love how you’ve mixed the mint!! I just bought the jackie as well and think mint adds such a great pop of color. Thanks for the inspiration! I am dying over those AG polka dot stevies. MUST HAVE!

  3. Oh boy a pair of polka dot pants just definitely just made their way onto my wishlist…! And a mint belt only makes them better!

Hi Molly, I was wondering if the Split Surface Belt fits small?

    • Yes, it does run a tad small. But it also depends on where you buckle it. I like to buckle this one on the second hole, so it looks more centered. When on the second hole, the size Medium i bought fits a little more snug than my size Small Snakebite belt. Do you own that one? What other belts do you own I could compare it to?

Thanks Molly. I don't own any Anthropologie belts. They only have size medium and large left, so I'm not sure if I should get the medium. I normally wear size 25 in jeans.
